Smallest Bodybuilder In The World Getting A Lot Of Attention

Tuesday, February 12th, 2008

According to a story at FoxNews.com, Aditya “Romeo” Dev of Phagwara, India, is a little person who is only 2 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs not even 20 pounds, yet he causes a lot of stir on a daily basis when he works out at the local gym.

In 2006, after months of intense exercise, the Guinness Book of World Records named Dev the smallest bodybuilder on the planet.

It’s individuals like Aditya that are true inspiration, because he doesn’t let anything stand in his way of reaching his muscle building goals. If someone that only weighs 20 pounds and is less than 3 feet tall can engage in a healthy weight gaining (of muscle, of course) lifestyle, why not all of us.

If you’re like me, sleeping can be a task onto itself. Many of us have a degree of difficulty in getting good night’s sleep. Sleep, without a shadow of a doubt, is very important because it is an essential piece of the muscle building - recuperation puzzle.

Magnesium MAY help some individuals sleep better. This mineral helps the body produce melatonin, which is a substance found in the brain that tells the body to “chill out”. Some recommend to take 200 mgs in the late evening.

According to a column in MuscleMag, as long as you don’t damage your joints with excessive weights, increasing your quad strength can help protect the cartilage behind your knee caps. Knee cartilage deteriorates over time and leads to osteoarthritis.

Researchers at the Mayo Clinic, continues to report the same column, found that people who had stronger quads had less cartilage loss in the patellofemoral joint. So remember, hit those lunges for not only building muscles in the hams and quads, but for long-term knee health!

Massages Can Help Build & Repair Muscle Tissue

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008

According to MuscleMag International, massages help overworked muscles bounce back faster by alleviating soreness and reducing swelling. According to Australian researchers, if a strained muscle is massaged within 3 hours of the onset of pain, it will be approximately a third less sore and swollen 3 days later than it would be without the massage therapy.

Massotherapy has many, many benefits and advantages to help repair, recover, and eventually build muscle mass…..plus it can really help with stress relief and relaxation.

British Journal Sports Medicine Also Says Supplements Contain Illegal Ingredients

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Wilhelm Schanzer, who is the head of the International Olympic Committee drug testing program, investigated 100 of the most widely used nutritional supplements. Well, he found that 16 of them actually contained the anabolic steroid known as Deca Durabolin, aka Nandrolone.

Also, researchers out of Denmark discovered that supplements such as BCAA’s CLA, creatine, and glutamine, among many others, were some of the most popular supplements to be laced with illegal ingredients.

As explain in one of the articles I posted up on this muscle building blog, this is done to make unsuspecting users think that the supplement works, in fact what’s working is not the advertised supplements, but in fact, the illegal ingredient, usually some form of anabolic steroid or prescription medication that can be used for fat burning, like Clenbuterol. Once people catch wind that this supplement supposedly works, and that reputation gets around, then the stop putting the ingredient that actually works in the batches, and purchasers are left with a pile of garbage for a supplement.
