Gain Weight Supplement - CLA May Not Be Worth It

Some of the most popular bodybuilding supplements out on the market are those aimed at the naturally skinny individual looking to gain weight and build lean muscle, which requires to either maintain or get the body down to low levels of body fat to reveal all of one’s hard earned muscle mass. One of those dietary supplements is conjugated linoleic acid, better known to weight lifters and bodybuilders as CLA.

The way this nutritional supplement works is that in the first place, it is a fatty acid that’s found in foods such as cheese, meat, and dairy products in general. Those that hype this supplement say that it either breaks down or prevents new fat formation. They claim that using 3-5 grams per day of CLA can help you burn 10 pounds of body fat in a 3 month period.

Well, guess what, that may not be so. A study that was done by scientists in Norway found that six months of using CLA had absolutely no effect on blood sugar or insulin sensitivity. Neither did it have any effect on glucose, insulin, insulin c-peptide, leptin, adiponectin, or body fat itself! This was all published in International Journal Obesity, 2007.

So then my question is, “Why haven’t these advertisers stopped claiming that CLA will help keep your body lean while you gain weight and build muscle mass?”, if it doesn’t do what it says????
